Description
Dane Cottage, which also serves as the office of P E J Mouland, is a pair of cottages dating from the mid-18th century, with an extension added in the late 18th century. The building features flint and brick bands, with brick dressings and a thatched roof. It is two stories high and consists of five bays from various construction phases, with the left three bays designated as Dane Cottage.
The entrance includes a top-lit 6-panelled door set within a doorcase that has a panelled reveal and pilasters supporting console brackets beneath an open pediment, located in the second bay from the left. On either side of the entrance are three-light casements with segmental heads, and there is also a three-light casement in the right bays. The first floor has a two-light casement flanked by three-light casements, with a six-light casement in the right bays. The roof is half-hipped, featuring stacks at both ends of Dane Cottage.
