Description
Thornley House is a house that dates from the 17th century but was encased in the 18th century. It features a timber frame that is covered in rendered brick and has an old plain tile roof. The building is two stories high and has three bays, with a fourth bay added to the left in the 18th century. The central entrance has a 6-panel door set within a doorcase that includes a panelled reveal and architrave. The architrave is supported by console brackets that hold up a gabled hood. There is a blank opening to the right of the door. The house has seven 16-pane moulded flush frame sashes, each with a carved keyblock on the frame. The eaves are dentilled, and the roof is hipped, featuring a large stack to the right of the center and another stack on the left hip.
