Description

Beech Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was altered in the 18th century and again in the late 20th century. It is timber-framed with brick infill, rendered, and has an old plain tile roof. The original building is two storeys and three bays, with an outshot to the rear, and a bay with a wing was added to the right in the late 20th century. A 20th-century 2-light casement window replaces the original door on the left of centre. The other bays have 2-light casement windows on both floors; the late 20th century bay has a door and a 2-light casement above it. Stacks are located at each end of the original building. Inside the outshot, the exposed rear wall of the timber frame is visible. The ground floor rooms contain 18th-century interior details, and the roof trusses are exposed on the first floor.
