Description
Dairy Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the 15th century and has been altered and extended in the 18th and 19th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill, and it has an old plain tile roof. The building has three bays at the end facing the road, with the far bay rebuilt and set slightly forward in the 18th century. The gable at the road end has also been rebuilt. There is a single-storey addition with two bays added to one side and a lean-to at the far end. The side of the cottage has the framing of the two bays exposed. In the center bay, there is a 20th-century door, and a two-light casement window in the road-facing bay. The rebuilt bay includes a planked door, a high-set two-light casement, and a two-light gabled dormer above the door. The roof is hipped at the road end, with a separate roof over the far bay. A ridge stack is located in the center bay.
