Description

Thatched Eaves is a cottage dating back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill and some rebuilding. The cottage is positioned with its end facing the road, presenting as a 1½-storey, three-bay structure with a passage bay, and a single-storey 20th-century addition at the road end. The garden front features a plank door sheltered by a swept-down thatched hood supported by posts on the left side of the centre. Each bay contains two-light segmental-head casement windows, and there is a two-light eyebrow dormer above. A single light window is located at the left-hand end. To the left, in the addition, are a two-light casement and French windows. All windows have leaded lights. The roof is half-hipped, and a ridge stack is situated between the right-hand bays.
