Description

Ibsley Bridge is a road bridge over the River Avon, built in the early 19th century and rebuilt from the foundations with two additional spans in 1930 by the County Surveyor. The bridge is constructed of dressed Purbeck stone and features three arches, with a large central arch. Each arch has raised keystones, and the flank walls on both sides at each end curve outward on the Ibsley side. A raised string runs across from the flank walls at road level. The bridge has a plain parapet, except for a tablet in a frame located in the center, and it is topped with moulded coping. The walls terminate in round piers.
