Description
Beetle Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the 16th century, with significant extensions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features a timber frame with rendered brick infill, which is exposed in some areas. It has a plain tiled roof that is half hipped to the right and includes a gablet, with an end stack on the left and a front stack on the right. The cottage is two storeys high and consists of two framed bays with corner bracing. The windows are 19th-century diamond pattern leaded casements, and there is a part-glazed plank door located centrally, sheltered by a pent roof porch supported by wooden posts that extends across the right half of the cottage. To the right, there is a timber-framed extension that is set back, featuring a projecting gable front addition at the right end. Additionally, there is a further set back addition at the right end with whitewashed brick infill and a planked door located under a pent roof hood to the left, positioned at an angle with the previous extension.
