Description
Grantley Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th century, with 19th century extensions on the right. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infilling, rendered on the first floor, and a plain tiled half-hipped roof. The building is positioned at right angles to the street and has two storeys. It consists of three framed bays with a single bay extension at the right end. There is an end stack to the left and a detached stack at the rear on an offset. The windows are irregularly placed, with five leaded windows on the first floor and three below, including one angle bay window on the ground floor to the right. To the left of the center, there are two part-glazed doors. There is a single storey extension around the stack on the left end, a weatherboard pentice on the right end, and cat-slide extensions at the rear. An old external end wall on the right is preserved inside.
