Description
Norney Old House is a cottage that dates back to the 16th century, with 19th-century extensions added to the rear right. The building features a timber frame that is exposed and underbuilt in red and blue brick, with a tile pentice course over the ground floor and brick infill above. The rear extensions are made of sandstone rubble with brick dressings, and the roofs are plain tiled, with a half-hipped design on the left side.
The cottage stands two storeys high and has a 17th-century ridge stack located to the right of the centre, a crow stepped offset end stack to the right, and a square ridge stack on the rear wing. The first floor showcases curved end bracing, and the windows are arranged irregularly, with five on the first floor and three on the ground floor, all leaded, including one five-light window on the left. To the right of centre, there is a studded and ribbed door set in an open pentice roof porch.
