Description
Hammonds Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 16th century, with extensions added to the rear left and ends in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features a timber frame that is exposed, with whitewashed brick infill and whitewashed brick cladding on the right side and the end extensions. It has a plain tiled roof that is half-hipped and is positioned at right angles to the street, with the entrance front located to the right. The cottage is two storeys high and consists of four framed bays, with the end bay on the right clad in brick and a plat band above the ground floor. There is a large ridge stack located to the right of the centre. The windows are arranged irregularly, with four on the first floor and four on the ground floor, including one to the right set in an arched panel recess. A plank door is situated to the right of centre. There are pentice extensions on both the right end and the left end, which are set back. Additionally, there is a garage block at right angles to the rear left, which is of no special interest.
