Description

Marsh Court Manor is a house located on Marsh Court Lane in Kings Somborne. It dates from the late 17th century, with an earlier core, and was altered in the mid-20th century. The building features a timber-frame core that is encased in brick with blue headers, topped by an old plain tile roof. It is two stories high and consists of three bays, with a passage and stack bay, and a wing at the rear center, along with an outshot at the rest of the rear.

The front of the house has a planked door set in a solid frame within the passage bay. On either side of the door are 20th-century tripartite windows, and in the right bay, there is a three-light casement window. Each opening is topped with rubbed brick arches, designed for wider openings, and there is a first-floor string course directly above. The end bays feature 9-pane sash windows set in flat-roofed dormers. Above the right inner bay, there is another 20th-century tripartite window with a head in the gable. The roof is half-hipped and includes a large multi-flued stack above the door, along with another stack positioned at the front right hip.
