Description
The steps leading up to the South Long Walk on the west side of Marsh Court were built between 1901 and 1905 by the architect Edwin Lutyens. They are constructed from stone with flint and stone risers. The flight consists of seven steps that widen as they descend, with small projecting platforms on either side of the top two steps. At the top level, the area spreads out, and below it is a wide step that leads to a level two steps down, which continues in both directions towards the house and away from it.
