Description

This is an 18th and 19th century cottage, originally used as a butcher's shop. It is constructed of colourwashed brick, with a thatched roof and a slated roof over the shop area. The building is one-and-a-half storeys high and has three bays. A single-storey shop was added to the left. The central entrance features a six-panel door with a top light, set within a solid frame and sheltered by a segmental hood supported by brackets. There are three-light casement windows on each side, each with a cornice; above these is a three-light casement within an eyebrow dormer, with leaded glazing. A taller two-light casement is found in another eyebrow dormer above the front door. The roof is half-hipped, extending over the shop, which has a stable door and a three-light casement alongside. Above the stable door is a fanlight.
