Description

Ivy Cottage and Shiloh are two attached cottages located in Nether Wallop, dating from the 17th century with extensions made in the 20th century. The cottages are constructed with a timber frame, featuring colourwashed plaster and brick infill, and a weatherboarded store bay, all topped with a thatched roof.

Both cottages are one and a half storeys high and consist of two bays. The left cottage, Ivy, has a 18th-century four-panel door in a solid frame at the right end of the left bay, with a single light window to the left and a three-light casement window in the right bay. Each bay is adorned with eyebrow dormers that contain either two or three-light casement windows. There are double doors leading into the weatherboarded store on the left. The roof is hipped to the left, with a chimney stack positioned to the right of the door.

The right cottage, Shiloh, features a high flint plinth and has a 20th-century door and casement window in the timber-framed right bay. The left bays contain a two-light casement window and above them, there are two-light eyebrow dormers. A chimney stack is located at the left end of this cottage.
