Description
Saddler's Cottage and Ivy Cottage are a block of two cottages dating from the 18th century. They are timber framed, plastered, and have thatched roofs. The cottages have four bays facing northeast, with two axial stacks and single-storey rear lean-to extensions. They are one storey high with attics.
Saddler's Cottage, located on the left, features an 18th-century shopfront that includes a bow window with 21 lights, a plain door, three simple pilasters, and a dentilled architrave that is concave over the door. It also has one 20th-century casement window and another in a gabled dormer. Ivy Cottage, on the right, displays 18th or 19th-century chevron pargetting, two 20th-century casements, two additional casements in gabled dormers, a plain door, and a Union firemark set deeply into the plaster. The roof of Ivy Cottage is half-hipped on the left side only.
