Description

Ivy House and Laurel Cottage are two cottages that form part of a row built in the 18th century, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. Ivy House features a 19th-century addition. The cottages are constructed from colourwashed brick and have brick dentil cornices. The roof, covered with plain tiles from the 20th century, has gable parapets and two brick ridge stacks from the 19th century. The layout is L-shaped, with a 19th-century rear wing.

The buildings are two storeys high and have a four-window range. The main section is positioned at right angles to the road. Laurel Cottage, located to the left, has a late 20th-century door and a late 20th-century jaw window to the left. The first floor features older two- and three-light wood and iron casements with glazing bars. The late 20th-century addition to the left is not considered to have special architectural interest. Ivy House has late 20th-century windows throughout, including three-light casements and top-hung windows above. There is a six-panelled door in the gable end facing the road, and the gable is rendered, with a two-window range to the right. An entrance to a passage is located on the right side. The ground floor openings are topped with brick segmental arches. The interiors have not been inspected.
