Description
Pool Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with some 19th-century rebuilding on the right side. It features a timber-framed structure with rendered and whitewashed brick infill, while the right bay is made of whitewashed brick and includes a dentil cornice and 20th-century decorative framing. The cottage has a thatched roof with a whitewashed brick ridge and external stacks on the right end.
The building has a three-unit plan and is one storey with an attic, presenting a two-window range. The third bay includes a ribbed door and an open porch. The ground floor features two- and three-light casement windows, mostly from the 20th century with horizontal glazing bars, while the right side has a 19th-century window with a segmental arch. There is also a small window below the ridge stack with glazing bars. On the first floor, there are dormers in the center and right, each containing a two-light cross-glazed casement with a glazed apex. Inside, the cottage has exposed trailing end beams and an open fireplace.
