Description
The Post Office is a house that has been converted into a post office and shop. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and has a 17th-century rear wing, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick with roughcast added in the 20th century, and it features a moulded brick cornice. The rear wing is timber-framed with rendered infill. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has brick end stacks. The building is L-shaped, with the wing extending to the left at the back. It has two storeys and a two-window range. The slightly projecting central bay contains a fielded six-panelled door. On the ground floor, there are three-light wood mullioned and transomed windows, along with segmental-arched openings. The first floor has late 20th-century casements in altered openings. The right side of the building reveals exposed framing in the lower wings. The interior has been opened up, but the first floor retains ceiling beams. This building is included for its group value.
