Description
Oak Farmhouse is a house that dates from the early 17th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features a timber-framed structure that is plastered, and it has a thatched roof. The house has three bays facing south and includes an external stack on the left end, which is enclosed by a small 19th-century extension. There is a two-storey lean-to extension along the entire length of the rear, which has one internal stack and a slate roof, also from the 19th century.
The front has a two-window range of 19th-century sashes with marginal lights, and there is a central thatched porch that was completely covered in creeper at the time of the survey. The grouped diagonal shafts are a notable feature. The left return wall is faced with red brick in Flemish bond up to the eaves level. On the rear wall, there are two 19th-century horizontally sliding sashes with 18 lights, and on the first floor, there is one three-light window with an incomplete wrought iron casement and rectangular leaded glass. An inspection of the interior was refused in June 1984.
