Description
The Post Office is a house dating from the 17th century, with extensions made in the 18th century. It is timber framed and plastered, with a roof covered in handmade red clay tiles. The building consists of five bays aligned north to south, with the entrance located at the south. Originally, it served as the service end crosswing of The Manor House, but it was later partitioned off and extended at both the front and back. There is one internal stack at the rear end. The shop front features two splayed bays with a half-glazed door in between. On the first floor, there is a splayed oriel window with three 20th-century casements. The eaves are coved on both side walls. Inside, the building has chamfered beams with lamb's tongue stops, joists that are plastered to the soffits, and primary straight bracing in the walls.
