Description

This is a milestone from the early 19th century located 25 metres east of Ampfield Primary School. It is made of painted stone and features a large cast-iron plate on the front. The stone is rectangular in shape with a flat top, and the cast-iron plate is inscribed with the distances to Winton (7 miles) and Romsey (4 miles).
