Description
This building is a barn located 50 meters southwest of Broadgate Farm House, dating from the early 18th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and sits on a brick plinth, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn has six bays and is positioned with one end facing the road, on ground that slopes away from it. The side opposite the farmyard has an aisle and outshots on the farmyard side. The outer side includes indented double doors in the third bay from the road end, with an aisle extending to the rest of the barn. The roof is half-hipped. Inside, there is a queen post roof with cambered ties, curved braces, and small braces to the aisle wallplate, along with windbraces. The aisle posts rest on baseplates on the brick plinths, with ties connecting the posts to the top of the wall.
