Description

This building is a barn located to the east at Barn Grounds, dating from the 17th to early 18th century. It features a timber frame with weatherboarding set on a plinth made of brick and flint. The roof is covered with corrugated iron and is half-hipped to the east, possibly over a later bay. The barn consists of four bays and has an aisle to the north. There are central opposing doorways, with the northern doorway having a raised dormer roof above it. Inside, the barn has a double queen-post roof with curved braces supporting trusses from jowled posts. Notably, many of the timbers used in the construction are re-used, including cruck blades.
