Description
Standford Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with mid-19th century alterations. It features rendered walls and a tiled roof. The building is the remaining part of a larger timber-framed structure, with the older section comprising two storeys and the later section having one and two storeys. It has a half-hipped steep roof and a shafted stack. The walls are roughcast above smooth rendering, with a small section of stonework. The south gable, which cuts off a former bay, has tile-hanging above brickwork. The windows are casements, and there is a boarded door in a plain frame. The eastern unit, added in the 19th century, is wider and has a double-pile half-hipped roof. The west side is a low two-storey section, while the east side features a shopfront and entrance that adjoins the roadway.
