Description

This is an early 19th-century row of small houses, numbered 13 to 24, on East Ascent in St Leonards. Numbers 13 and 20 to 23 have been rendered with pebbledash, while the others retain stucco. The houses have parapets and a cornice. They are two stories high with basements, and each house has three windows. The windows are sash windows, some with original glazing bars. A continuous cill band runs along the first floor. The ground floor features round-headed windows and recesses for doorways, each with a continuous impost and a semi-circular fanlight, some of which retain original glazing bars. A wide flight of steps leads to each front door. The roofs are slate. Numbers 13 to 24 form a group.
