Description

These are a pair of cottages located on the south side of High Street in Twyford, dating to the 17th century and altered in the late 19th century. The cottages are rendered and painted, with a clay tile gabled roof. They are one and a half storeys high, featuring two chimneys on the ridge. The upper level has four sash windows that break the eaves to form gabled dormers, each with decorative relief pargetting in the tympanum. Below, three smaller sash windows are visible on the ground floor, each with a hood mould. A six-panelled door is centrally located between two windows on the left side, with a similar door on the right. However, the window to the right of this door has been replaced with a five-light fixed light window from the early 20th century, which was formerly a shop window. The buildings are included on the heritage list due to their group value.
