Description
No. 24 High Street is a cottage that has been converted into offices. It dates from the 16th and 17th centuries and has been altered and extended in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame with rendered and painted infill, and the extension is made of rendered brick. It has old tile gable roofs and is designed in a T-plan, consisting of two framed bays at the front and a two-bay extension at the rear, along with a small 20th-century extension. The cottage is two storeys high and has a large flank inglenook chimney on the right side. The 20th-century stained casement windows are irregularly spaced within the framing on all sides. There is a 20th-century planked wooden entrance door located on the south front, which is sheltered by a pent tiled porch. Inside, most of the timber frame is exposed, and there is a 16th-century diamond mullioned window on the former external wall facing north on the first floor.
