Description

A former hall house, dating to the 15th century, and subsequently altered in the 17th and 20th centuries, with an early 19th-century extension. It is now divided into three separate houses. The building is constructed of timber frame, partly faced with painted roughcast over brick, and partly of painted brick at the rear, with an old tile gabled roof. The original structure presents two timber-framed bays facing the road, originally jettied, with two storeys and 20th-century three-light casement windows. A 20th-century entrance door is located on the side. A long, two-storey extension runs to the rear, featuring six irregular bays of early 19th-century sash windows with glazing bars, facing west, and two entrance doors positioned irregularly on the ground floor. The front portion of the interior retains a high-quality timber frame, with exposed heavy jowl posts and two large studs on the first floor, featuring original painted leaf decoration.
