Description
The Bell Public House, now part public house and part offices, is an inn dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and rendered on the east front, featuring a parallel ridge plan. It has two storeys and a cellar, with brick dentil eaves and a chimney offset on the ridge to the east.
The south front consists of seven bays, with flat gauged brick arches above sash windows that have glazing bars, although two of the windows are blocked. The entrance door, which dates from the 19th century, is located under a flat hood in the fourth bay from the left, with a former shop window adjacent to it. The east front has a narrow central section of three recessed bays, with similar windows and a late 19th century pub entrance door that includes side and top lights in the left bay.
