House, now public house. C17, altered late C19 and C20. Timber frame part rendered, part faced with brick; C20 false timbering on north front, brick extension. Hipped old tile roof. T-plan with C20 extension on south. 2-storey with attics and cellar, chimneys at rear. Road front: 4 bays sash windows with glazing bars on upper floor irregularly spaced within false timbering. On ground floor a small half glazed C19 entrance door on left, on right of this a 12-pane fixed light window. In centre 2 pairs of C19 entrance doors, one pair with narrow sidelights. On right end 2 coupled C19 sash windows with glazing bars. Interior: some timber frame exposed, mainly on upper floors. A good early C16 staircase with cut flat balusters in straight flights on first floor and leading to attics.
