Description
Polehampton School House is an 18th-century building that has been converted from a school into a house. It is constructed of chequered brick and features a hipped roof covered with old tiles. The building has a rectangular plan and consists of two storeys, an attic, and a basement.
The west front of the house has five bays, with the central bay extending up to the attic level and featuring a two-light casement window beneath a hipped roof. There are dormer windows on either side, each with similar casements. The other windows are sash windows with glazing bars set in wide frames, and those on the ground floor have brick segmental heads.
The entrance is a six-panelled door, with the top panels glazed, located in the central bay and sheltered by a flat hood supported by brackets. Access to the entrance is via a flight of five stone steps, which are flanked by plain iron handrails and balusters.
