Description

SWALLOWFIELD SUN LANE SU 76 SW (south side) 11/10 Coldharbour Cottage II Cottage. Late C16, carefully restored late C20. Timber framed with painted render infill, brick gable on left; thatched gabled roof. Rectangular plan of 2 framed bays with small C20 lean-to extension at rear. 2 storeys. Flanking chimneys, brick plinth. C20 leaded casement windows inserted between old diamond mullions with some C20 replacements. Entrance front:- 2 bays. 4-light casements. C20, thatched and gabled porch in centre. Complete frame exposed with large curved braces. Interior:- Inglenook fireplace. Most frame exposed of fine quality with shutter grooves remaining in frame above most windows. Beams are chamfered with ox-tongue stops on ground floor.
