Description
Roff Cottage is a cottage dating from around 1600, with alterations made in the 19th century and extensions added in the 20th century. The building features a mix of timber framing and painted brick, topped with a thatched hipped roof. It has an irregular plan with an outshot at the rear and originally consists of two framed bays, which have been extended on both sides. The cottage is two storeys high, with an attic and a basement, and has a central chimney.
On the entrance front, there are 19th-century wood casement windows with a horizontal bar; the first floor has two lights, while the ground floor has three lights, along with a 20th-century central entrance door set within a closed boarded porch that has a tiled gabled roof. To the left, there is a single-storey 19th-century extension, and to the right, a small two-storey 20th-century extension. Inside, some timber framing is exposed, and there is an inglenook fireplace.
