Description

Beech Hill House is a large country house, now converted into flats. It was originally built in the 18th century and subsequently altered in the mid-20th century. The house is constructed of brick with a hipped roof covered in old tiles. It has an L-shaped plan with a mid-20th century extension on the southwest side, and includes three storeys and cellars, with some windows now blocked up. A parapet tops the structure.

The south front features seven bays, with sash windows incorporating glazing bars and set within architrave frames. A central half-glazed door is sheltered by a porch supported by slender Doric columns, featuring a broken entablature and arched open pediment.

The interior retains an 18th-century staircase with turned balusters, a moulded handrail, and a panelled dado. The house is featured in the Buildings of England: Berkshire, page 84.
