Description
Tudor Farm is a hall house that has been converted into a large house. It dates from the early 16th century, with alterations made in the 17th century and extensions added in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features a timber frame encased in brick and has an old tile gabled roof. It is designed in an L-shape with four framed bays, including one bay hall at the west outshut at the rear. There is a large 20th-century gabled extension to the left, which has false timbering. The house is two storeys high and has a 17th-century chimney on the south wall and a similar chimney on the east gable.
The south front has three bays with 20th-century leaded casements, and the ground floor windows have segmental brick arches. There is a gabled entrance porch with a ledged entrance door and flanking pointed arched leaded lights, positioned to the left of centre. Inside, the timber frame is exposed, featuring chamfered beams with run-out stops and two large fireplaces. The queen post roof trusses are visible, with the rafters sooted over the hall bay. The 20th-century extensions are not considered of special interest. On the Ordnance Survey Map, the house is shown as Watmore Farm.
