Description

Old Beams is a cottage dating from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th century and an extension added in the mid-20th century. The structure features a combination of timber framing with brick infill, brick, and flint. It has an old tiled gabled roof and originally had a rectangular plan consisting of two framed bays, but it has been extended at the rear to create an L-shaped layout. The cottage is two storeys high and has one chimney on the northeast slope and two on the northwest. The windows are 20th-century scattered leaded casements, and there is a plain 20th-century entrance door located under a flat hood in the extension on the southwest front.
