Description

Redaways Cottage is a late 16th-century cottage, extended in the 20th century. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill, and has an old tile gabled roof with new tiles on the extension. The cottage has a rectangular plan of two framed bays, extended to the right and at the rear. It is two storeys high, with one chimney on the ridge to the right of the centre and one at the rear. The west front shows exposed timber framing, with rendered infill on the ground floor. It has irregular 19th-century casement windows, some with leaded lights. An extension on the right replicates the style with false timberwork. The interior retains exposed timber framing, and the principal beams are chamfered with lambs tongue stops.
