Description
Old Oak Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the late 16th century, with a refacing in the 18th century and alterations made in the 20th century. The building features a combination of part timber frame with painted brick infill and part brick construction, topped with an old tile gabled roof. It has a rectangular plan and includes 20th-century extensions at the rear and on the right side. The cottage is two storeys high and has a large central ridge chimney with pots.
The front of the building is symmetrical with two bays. On the first floor, there are three-light leaded casements with shutters, while the ground floor has similar windows without shutters. There is also a single-light window at each end of the ground floor, along with three later buttresses. The entrance door, which is from the 20th century, is located in a gabled porch on the west gable.
