Description

This large threshing barn, dating from the 17th century, is located approximately 40 metres north-west of Barn Cottage in Hampstead Norreys. It features a timber frame and an old tile roof that is both half hipped and hipped at the gable end, with a lower hipped extension facing the street. The barn has seven framed bays and aisles on both sides, along with two large hipped wagon entrances. Inside, there is an arch-braced collar roof supported by double purlins, reducing principal rafters, wind races to both purlins, and jowled posts. The barn is an important element in the street.
