Description

This is a threshing barn located at the east end of the north side of the courtyard at Brooklands Farm. It dates to the 17th century and is a large, five-bay structure with aisles on both the north and south sides. The barn is timber framed and has a weatherboarded exterior with a clay tile roof. Originally constructed with tenoned purlins, the construction is typical of aisled barns of this date. Some timbers have been replaced in the 20th century, and some subsidiary bracing has also been added during that period. A central bay features opposing cart entrances, raised above the aisle eaves level.
