Description
This is a 17th century timber-framed threshing barn located to the northwest of Bourne Farm House on Breakspears Road North in Harefield. The barn is weatherboarded and features a clay tile roof. It consists of five bays, with two bays on either side of the threshing floor, which has one lipped porch entrance and one gabled entrance. The wall framing includes swell-head posts, fairly wide-set uprights, and a half rail. The roof is supported by queen post trusses with arch-braced tie beams, and there are two levels of purlins with wind braces. There are also later aisle extensions.
