Description
This is a 17th-century three-stead threshing barn located 50 meters northwest of Low Farm House in Ringland. The barn features a timber frame set on a brick and flint plinth, with sections that are weatherboarded and others that are rendered with wattle and daub. It has a steeply pitched thatched roof. A later brick gable has been added to the west, which truncates the original frame. On the southwest side, there are large double doors, while a smaller winnowing door is located on the northeast side. Inside, there is a brick threshing floor. The structure includes jowled posts that support arch-braced tie beams, with straight wind braces extending from the principal posts to the wall plate. The roof is constructed with butt purlins and straight wind bracing. Additionally, there is a later lean-to at the northeast gable.
