Description

The Eastern Barn at Rutters Farm is a 17th-century threshing barn. It is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding, and it has a 20th-century roof covering. The barn features a five-bay plan, with a gabled entrance and threshing floor that projects to the west from the second bay from the north. The main trusses of the barn include curved braces between the main beams and wall posts, as well as between the main beams and principal rafters, located just above the lower purlin level.
