Description

Romp Hall is a large farmhouse dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The building is timber framed, resting on a brick and stone plinth. The exterior is largely rough cast and colour washed, though the timber frame is exposed and colour washed brick infill is visible on the north-east gable end. It has an old clay tile roof. The house is arranged in an L-shape, with a main block of one storey and attics, and a two-storey cross-wing, likely added later. The north-western elevation, including the cross-wing gable end, features two three-light horizontal sash windows and two casement windows on the ground floor. The attic has two gabled dormers, each with a two-light horizontal sash window. The first floor has one sash window and one two-light horizontal sash window, all with glazing bars. A 20th-century porch, aligned with a red brick ridge stack serving back-to-back hearths, is also present.
