Description

The garden walls to the east and south of Church Gardens Nursery Cottage are 17th century structures made of red brick. They extend from the southwest of the cottage and enclose two inner garden spaces, while also partially enclosing an additional space to the east. Although the walls are breached and broken in places, they remain very tall in certain areas. On the southwest face of the northeastern wall, there is an arcade featuring fairly tall round-backed niches with half-hemispherical heads, which suggests that the area may have been used as an orangery or sculpture gallery.
