Description
The Parish Well, located on Church Street in Hampstead Norreys, is a wellhouse and water pump dated 1903. It features a cast iron pump without a spout, equipped with a cranked shaft, three pistons, and a wooden handle. The wellhouse is timber framed and has a hipped roof covered with old tiles, supported by wide overhanging eaves on large corner posts and brackets. There is a wooden balustraded palustrade with a pair of central gates on the south side, which are fitted with iron hinges and spikes. A date plaque is positioned on the right side, inscribed with "This well was given to the Parish of Hampstead Norreys by Harry Weber Esq, of Hawkridge 1903."
