81, London Road

81 London Road is a mid-19th century detached villa designed in the Eldon Square style. The building has two storeys and a 2.5 storey gabled section that is slightly off-centre to the right. It is constructed of stucco and features a symmetrical arrangement of windows, with two windows on the outer sides and one in the centre, all of which are glazing bar sashes with moulded architraves. There is a bracketed pediment above the first-floor window of the gabled section and above the doorway to the right. To the left, there is a glazed verandah that has been modified into a modern greenhouse. The roof is slate with projecting eaves. At the rear, there is an interesting ground floor bow that continues through to form a gabled centerpiece in the overall design. The villa is linked to Nos. 83 and 85 by a garden entrance that features a slight pediment in the parapet above.
