Description
19 and 21 Eldon Square is a pair of houses built around the 1840s. They are constructed from Bath stone ashlar and feature a band above the ground floor. The buildings are two storeys high with outer gabled breaks and consist of four bays in total. The first floor has paired windows that are 19th-century sashes and are arched. The outer windows are slightly thicker and include a modillion cornice and a low relief pediment with flanking antefixae, while the inner windows are positioned beside round-headed panels. The ground floor windows are tall casements, with the two inner windows connected by a verandah that has cast iron guard rails and stone brackets and supports from the area wall. There is a central arched groove on the first floor, and the walls are thickened and channelled for arched doorways. The roof is made of slate.
