Description
No. 11 Eldon Square is an Italianate house dating from the circa 1840s and is the largest on the north side of the square. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of Bath stone ashlar, featuring a plinth and ground floor that is channelled, with a string course above the ground floor. The building has gabled side bays and a narrow central recessed bay. Most windows are glazing bar sash windows, except for the centre window on the second floor, which has been modified to a Venetian style with corbelled stone balconies. The outer windows on the first floor have bracketed cornices, while the centre window features a trellis verandah balcony above the porch. The ground floor has tripartite outer windows with stone pilaster mullions set in a slight recess. The central entrance consists of a panelled double door with a rectangular overlight, leading to a projecting porch supported by square piers, which has a modillion cornice and a pierced parapet, with arched windows on either side. The roof is slate with projecting eaves. To the right, there is a garden wall pier that follows the Eldon Square pattern.
