Description

ELDON SQUARE 1. 5128 No 9 SU 7273 7/469 II GV 2. Circa 1840 detached. Italianate. 2 storey wings flanking 3 storey centre. Basement. Bath stone ashlar, ground floor channelled. 1st floor cill string to wings and modillion cornice with blocking course; centre plain cornice with high parapet. 3 bays glazing bar sashes, 1st floor centre with shallow relief plain pediment. Outer ground floor windows tripartite with stone mullions, and bracketed pediment in slight recess. Central doorway flanked by pilasters and projecting gabled porch with arched entrance. Left hand return has pedimented break as does the right (but latter only 4 foot from side wall of No 11).End piers to front garden, similar to others in the area. Hidden slate roof with ashlar chimneys, (moulded capping).
